    Hello SF families,

I hope you have had the opportunity to listen to our superintendent's message regarding reopening schools. At this time we do not have a set date for this to happen, however we are collecting input from you to be able to plan and coordinate our next steps. We are currently getting our schools prepared to follow the CDE reopening guidelines. There have been many steps taken within our classrooms and campuses to ensure student's and staff's safety. The videos shared by Mrs. McSparren indicate what the district has implemented in every school site. We will be sharing more information as it comes available in regards to what in-person instructional model our student's would return to. This will include the number of students' in each class, hours of instruction, daily schedule, etc. But be sure that all of these decisions have to follow the CDE guidelines for reopening. The number of students returning will also have an impact on our in-person model.

I understand that you will have many questions, please feel free to contact me by email at sfprincipal@busd.k12.ca.us. Our goal is for you to feel reassured that your child's education and safety is our number one priority.

You will be getting a link to take a site based survey to decide your course of action in regards to the remainder of this school year. Please submit your response by Friday, Feb. 27th.

We understand that you and your family have lots to think about, please feel free to contact me if you need any clarifications. I will respond with the information that is currently available.

We thank you for your support and patience with this transition. We are committed to our school community and working hard to give our students the best educational settings within the guidelines.

    Thank you

    Mrs. Castillo

    • Stay home when you are sick. You need to be fever free for 24 hours without fever reducing medication before returning to school.
    • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. Help young children do the same.
    • If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.
     • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
     • Limit close contact, like kissing and sharing cups or utensils, with people who are sick.
     • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
    • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash. If you do not have a tissue, use your sleeve (not your hands).
