BUSD Teacher of the Year

We are thrilled to recognize, Melissa Ellis as this year’s recipient of the Bellflower Unified School District Teacher of the Year Award. Melissa Ellis has served the district for 17 years, beginning as a science teacher at Bellflower Middle/High School, and progressing to become a full-time Career Technical Education (CTE) educator. She teaches Intro to Health Careers, Medical Assistant, Counseling, Mental Health courses and serves as the CTE department Chair, always making decisions in the best interest of her students. Melissa has demonstrated exemplary leadership, commitment, and dedication to her students, creating a safe and nurturing classroom environment that is characterized by trust and high expectations. Congratulations to Melissa for this prestigious honor!
