  • Online Enrollment For New Students is Now Happening! 

    Bellflower Middle/High School Aeries Online Enrollment allows you to quickly start the process of enrolling your student(s) for school. Information about the student such as emergency contacts, medical, and language information will be collected. Upon completion, the student's information is electronically sent to the school but is not complete until the school site has reviewed the data and received the appropriate required documents.

  • Summer Work Permit Request

    Starting June 2nd, work permits over the summer will be processed through the Child Welfare and Attendance department. All work permits granted over the 2022–2023 school year will expire on August 12, 2023.  Follow the link below to obtain that request form. Fill it out and follow up by emailing CWA@busd.k12.ca.us.

  • Happy Memorial Day & Finals Week Information

    BMHS will be closed for Memorial Day on Monday, May 29.  School returns on Tuesday, May 30, for the last week of school.

  • Think Together Enrollment for the 2023-2024 School Year.

    Think Together enrollment has begun! This is open to all incoming 7th and 8th graders who will be at Bellflower Middle School during the 2023-2024 school year. Please see the flyer for details, and scan the QR code to complete the application. This is an excellent after-school program for middle school students that helps with homework support, academic support, arts and enrichment, and STEM education. 

    Bellflower Unified School District's Expanded Learning Program is pleased to offer after-school enrichment opportunities for 7th and 8th grade students through Think Together.  Students will be able to participate in the program from 2:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. each day.  Students will also be able to participate in the program from 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. on late start Mondays.  All students will be provided a healthy snack, thirty minutes per day of physical activities, homework assistance, and enrichment activities.

    Registration is required for students who want to participate.

  • Class of 2023 Senior Celebration & Decision Day Rally - Friday, May 12th 

    On Friday, May 12th, we celebrated our seniors who were accepted to 4-year universities with a breakfast event. Students received a shirt from the University they plan to attend in the Fall. At lunch, we celebrated our seniors who have made plans to attend a 4-year university, community college, trade school, or the military. All eligible seniors were invited to participate at the lunch rally.

  • Bellflower High's Summer College Readiness Program

    The BHS College & Career Center is hosting a Summer College Readiness Program this summer to all Class of 2024 students. This is a great opportunity for students to start preparing for their senior year and for the college admission process. Review the flyer for Program dates. Below is information about the Summer College Readiness Program:
    • FREE One week, 4-day College Readiness Program
    • Each day of the program will consist of a career, college or financial aid related workshop
    • Each workshop is an one hour and 30 minutes
    • Students must select one of the program sessions and attend all four days
    • Space is limited to 12 students for each session 

    Program Workshop Topics:

    • Day 1: Transcript review & Career Exploration
    • Day 2: Research Colleges & Create College List
    • Day 3: Prepare for College Apps & College Essays
    • Day 4: Financial Aid, Scholarships & Personal Essay

  • 8th Grade Promotion Information

    Eighth Grade Promotion will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at 9:15 a.m. in the gymnasium. Seating will begin at 8:40 a.m. Since seating is limited, we are asking that only immediate family attend the program.

    Promotion participation is subject to grades, attendance, and behavior. Additionally, students should be free from obligations to the library and ASB accounting office. Students must pass all six of their classes both semesters of their 8th grade year. If students do not earn all passing grades both semesters, they may still participate if they earn a combined GPA of 2.0 or higher for both semesters of 8th grade. A grade of D is considered passing. Please note that both first and second semester grades are factored into promotion eligibility.

    Bellflower’s dress code for students will be strictly enforced. Students not adhering to dress code policy will be prohibited from participation in the ceremony. Appropriate dress includes clothes typically worn to a nice occasion. If there is a question about appropriate attire, please contact the middle school office.

    Balloons, signs, banners, and any noisemakers will NOT be allowed during the ceremony.

    Please enter and exit the school through the front gate or Nutrition Center gate. Security will be stationed at each gate. 

    Parking is limited, additional parking will be available for all families in attendance of the promotion ceremony at the Nutrition Center located behind the football stadium.

  • Bellflower High School Senior Celebration Senior Celebration Donations

    For the past several years, Bellflower High School seniors who were accepted into 4-year universities received a college shirt for the school that they were going to attend.

    We would like your help in collecting donations to assist us with the continued funding of our Senior Celebration account for the Class of 2023 and beyond.

    The Bellflower Unified School District will offer a Summer Camp from June 5 through July 28.   • Cerritos College Summer Course - MUSIC 104B - History of Rock

    Cerritos College is offering Music 104B - History of Rock as a Summer Dual Enrollment course to all Bellflower Unified School District students in 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th grade. The class is from June 5th to July 7th.
    • The class is fully online  with no scheduled meetings.
    • Students can receive High School Credit for Visual & Performance Art
    • Students can also receive college credit and the units can be transferred to CSU/UC
    • The class is totally free! Books are provided.

  • CalAPS Fall Course Registration is NOW OPEN! 

    CalAPs registration for Fall classes is NOW OPEN. CalAPS courses are open to all Bellflower High School Students including incoming 9th graders (i.e., current 8th graders). Review the CalAPS flyer to see what courses are being offered in the fall. Course enrollment is first come first serve, and popular courses will fill-up quickly. 
     
    NOTE - CalAPS courses are after school twice a week on either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday. Students will receive high school elective credit if they complete the entire course. 
     
    If you are interested in enrolling in a CalAPS course, visit the College & Career Center in Room 401 to get help completing the CalAPS course registration form. See attached flyer.

  • Grad Nite Information

    Grad Nite is a safe, sober, drug and alcohol free celebration for our senior graduates.  This year Grad Nite will be held at Disneyland in Anaheim, CA on May 19, 2023.  This event is for Bellflower HS Seniors only, no guests will be allowed to attend with a Bellflower student. Grad Nite is $235, which includes transportation, a park hopper pass valid for May 19th only and a 4-hour Grad-Only party in California Adventure from 10pm - 2am.  All students who attend Grad Nite must ride the school bus to the event.  Students check in at 10am May 19 and return around 3:30am to BMHS.  The last day to purchase tickets was February 28.  Click here for more information about Grad Nite and Grad Week.

  • FAFSA and California Dream Act Application (CADAA)

    Are you a senior who forgot to submit their FAFSA or CADAA by the March 2nd deadline? Are you attending a community college or trade school in the Fall? If so, did you know that you can still submit your FAFSA/CADAA to receive free money for school. The deadline for community college and trade school students to complete the FAFSA/CADAA is September 2nd. However, don't wait until September to complete the FAFSA/CADAA, complete the application now. Visit the College and Career Center to get help completing your FAFSA or CADAA.     -Banned from the graduation ceremony and Banned from any senior week activity, with no refunds permitted for grad nite.

  • High School Yearbook and Senior Ad Information

    Please read the following information regarding the High School Yearbook. The cost is $85 before Winter Break, and $95 after Winter Break. In addition, we also sell pages in the high school yearbook as well. The costs are listed on the attached flyer, posted below, that you can download. If you have any questions regarding the high school yearbook, please contact Ms. Lisa Jass, in Room 202. If you have questions regarding payments, please contact the ASB Office.

    Every year the yearbook offers parents and students the ability to buy senior ads in the yearbook to honor their graduating seniors.  This year is no different. We are extending our original deadline from December 16th to January 31st to give you the opportunity to purchase these senior ads for your students. The information is in the attached document. If you choose to participate, please read the document, pay for your ad through the ASB office or the website and fill out the form linked through the document. The yearbook staff appreciates your support.

  • 2022-2023 Bellflower Middle & High School Scholarship List

    The 2022-2023 Scholarship List is now available! The list has over 80 scholarships with deadlines from December to June. Scholarships are available for middle and high school students. There are merit and need-based scholarships. There are also scholarships specifically for graduating seniors, minority students, undocumented students, student athletes and different hobbies and career interests.
     
    Review the scholarship list carefully and apply to scholarships that you are eligible for. Remember, an hour of your time completing a scholarship may win you $1,000!

    SENIORS! Are you excited about graduation? Well, it's time to begin purchasing your graduation materials! Jostens will be on campus on Tuesday, November 15th during high school lunch. The deadline to order is Sunday, November 20th! You can also call Jostens directly, or order online on their website (Their information is in the flyer, attached below).   • Free Paper Online Tutoring Available 24/7Paper Online Tutoring Free!

    PAPER Online Tutoring is now available for all students in 4th-12th grade through their Clever account. Students may ask tutors questions through the chat feature using the PAPER APP to get help with homework, feedback on their writing, or support with studying for assessments. The APP can be found in the Google Play and Apple APP store.

  • HelpNow Tutoring

    Every Californian can now access free online tutoring at any hour of the day, thanks to a new initiative offering educational resources to K-12 students and adult learners. The resource is part of an investment in public libraries announced Sept. 12 by California Gov. Gavin Newsom. Real-time homework help is now available "on the websites of any of the 1,130 local public libraries around the state," and here. The HelpNow pilot program currently offers help in math and language arts, in English and Spanish, at any time of the day or night. Help for "other core K-12 subjects" is available between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. in English, Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, and Tagalog, with no age limit to who can take advantage of the resource.

  • Title I Parent & Student Evaluation Survey

    Bellflower Middle and High School is asking for your input regarding school services, so that we may continue to improve parent involvement opportunities that result in improved student achievement.   • New Digital Photo ID Card through Minga!

    Bellflower Middle/High School students will now be able to utilize the app called Minga as a digital ID card! The app enables staff to create hall passes, reward students for doing well and helping others, and the digital ID card will help students have an easier time entering or leaving campus. The digital ID has a "live" interface, with a running digital clock and a moving background, thus preventing students from using a screenshot. Students will utilize their school email (via Google) to log in. The app is safe to use, uses very little data, and doesn't require access to any of the information stored on your phone. If your child does not have a smartphone, don't worry - they will receive a printed ID card as well.
