Transitional Kindergarten & Kindergarten Guide
Transitional Kindergarten (TK)
Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is part of the K-12 public school system and is the first year of a two-year kindergarten program. TK uses a modified kindergarten curriculum that is age and developmentally appropriate and is based on the California Preschool Learning Foundations. The program is a full- day program, with no cost to parents. Our TK program will provide our youngest kindergartners with a readiness year that will better prepare them for success once they enter traditional kindergarten. TK is offered at all of our elementary schools. For the 25-26 school year, a student is eligible for TK if they turn four years old by September 1, 2025.
