BUSD’s Expanded Learning Program offers an enrichment program for all elementary and middle school students.  This program has three components:

  1. After school enrichment (6:00 p.m. dismissal)

  2. Enrichment program for select non-school days, typically during Spring Break and Summer (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.)

  3. Before school enrichment (6:30 a.m. until school begins)

Students can join one or all program components, at no cost to families.  Participating students will be provided daily meals, physical activities, homework assistance, and enrichment activities.  Enhanced learning opportunities include enrichment classes with educational partners, assemblies, interest based clubs, and off-site field trips.

We partner with Think Together to provide the after school and non-school days enrichment programs. We partner with the YMCA for the before school enrichment program.  During the after school program, a variety of educational partners provide enrichment activities. Below are videos from one of these partners, STEMNETICS, who provided STEM enrichment classes at Ramona and Mayfair.

Video 2: Mayfair - Stomp Rockets

Each elementary and middle school has enrollment information for all three program components.  If you have further questions, contact the Expanded Learning Program district administrator at (562) 866-9011, extension 2010.
