CONTINGENCY PLAN FOR FULL IN OR PARTIAL CLOSURE OF IN-PERSON OPERATIONS
As part of the reopening protocols, we are required to have a Contingency Plan for closure of in-person operations. Below is a description of when our plan will be implemented and how we will support learning loss should individual students need to quarantine. Please note that any closure, partial or full will come by direction of the Los Angeles County Health Department.
Only for students who are receiving in-person instruction and are required to move into this model if an outbreak occurs and a partial or full closure is required. The COVID-19 Exposure Management Plan Guidance in TK-12 Schools requirements will be used to determine which stakeholders will need to quarantine. While quarantined, students will be required to participate in virtual synchronous instruction during normal school hours. After the quarantine is over, students will return to the in-person model.
At least three confirmed cases with symptomatic or asymptomatic COVID-19 within a 14-day period in a group* with members who are epidemiologically linked, do not share a household, and are not a close contact of each other outside of the campus. *School groups include persons that share a common membership at school (e.g., classroom, school event, school extracurricular activity, academic class, sport teams, clubs, transportation). Epidemiological links require the infected persons to have been present at some point in the same setting during the same time period while infectious.
All operations at the school site are closed and the whole school would go into a Hybrid Model in which instruction would be conducted virtually during the time of closure. If the teacher of record is not able to provide the instruction during quarantine due to illness a substitute will be provided.
All operations in a specific classroom are closed and only that classroom or classrooms would have to go into a Hybrid Model. If the teacher of record is not able to provide the instruction during quarantine due to illness a substitute will be provided.
Individual Quarantine and Independent Studies
Students who are required to go into quarantine based on direction given by the District nurse or documentation from a health provider stating they need to go into quarantine. These students will be placed on short term independent studies and will have access to support from a certificated staff member during designated school hours; information on how to access the support will be provided by the school. Students will be required to turn in all assignments to their rostered teacher for grading upon return from their quarantine.
