    Esther Lindstrom Elementary provides a variety of opportunities for gifted and talented students. Our GATE facilitator plans and organizes enrichment opportunities for our students and is in charge of the identification and annual GATE testing process.     This Year's GATE Opportunities: 

    Sci-Con- classes after school will begin in March. There will be three 1 hour classes to introduce 3-6th grade students to Sci-Con, help organize and present, and discuss availability of supplies. Upcoming dates and details to follow.

    Parents, please drop off children at 5 pm on the 15th and pick them up at 7 am on the 16th. 
    Catalina Trip May 15-17
    Students should already be signed up and contacted by Mrs. Hofmans.
    GATE students interested in marine biology and island ecology have an opportunity each year to attend the Catalina Island Marine Institute trip. Students and chaperoning teachers launch from Long Beach on a Friday traveling by boat to Catalina, landing in Toyon Bay for a three day outdoor science experience returning home on Sunday afternoon. While in Toyon Bay, students participate in hands-on learning activities as well as have an opportunity to snorkel in search of sea life.
