Executive Director of Human Resources Certificated Personnel

Greetings and welcome to the Bellflower Unified School District Human Resources Instructional Personnel page.

I am excited to return to Bellflower Unified School District to serve as the Executive Director of Instructional Personnel. My career in education began within this district as a teacher at Bellflower Middle High School, where I had the privilege of instructing students in grades 7-12.

After my tenure in Bellflower, I advanced into leadership roles at Compton Unified School District, where I served as an administrator overseeing Curriculum and Instruction for TK-12 programs. I also held key positions such as Director of Human Resources and Director of Black Student Achievement. In these roles, I was fortunate to lead the development of initiatives and systems that enhanced student achievement, cultivated equitable practices, and ensured organizational efficiency. I also had the privilege of serving as both a middle school and high school principal, both experiences that provided me with a deeper understanding of the unique needs at each level of education.

As Executive Director of Instructional Personnel, my foremost goal is to cultivate a dynamic, supportive, and highly effective instructional workforce that reflects the values and needs of our students and community. I am committed to recruiting, developing, and retaining exceptional educators who are passionate about fostering academic excellence and creating inclusive learning environments.

I hold a Bachelor of Science degree from Fisk University, a Master’s degree from Pepperdine University, and a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership, also from Pepperdine University. I have completed the Chief Business Officer (CBO) program at the University of Southern California (USC), and earned my clear teaching and administrative credentials from California State Long beach and California State Dominguez Hills, respectively. These academic credentials, coupled with my experience and ongoing commitment to professional development, have shaped my philosophy of leadership. I am dedicated to continuous growth and learning, understanding that to lead effectively, one must be perpetually engaged in the process of self-improvement.

Raised in South Los Angeles, I have long been inspired by the resilience of communities striving for equitable access to high-quality education. My upbringing instilled in me a deep commitment to community service, which continues to guide my professional endeavors. I believe that the work we do in schools is not only about academic achievement, but also about enriching the communities we serve. In this spirit, I remain actively involved in various community service initiatives, as I believe in the reciprocal relationship between schools and the broader community.

Thank you for visiting our page, and I am excited to continue contributing to the growth and vitality of this vibrant educational community.
