Flyer Distribution

Overview

Starting January 2026, Bellflower Unified School District (BUSD) will no longer use paper flyers. Instead, all flyers from outside organizations will be sent electronically through ParentSquare.

This change helps us:

  • Save staff time
  • Reduce printing and paper costs
  • Support our commitment to being an environmentally conscious district

For Parents and Guardians

You do not need to do anything. You will automatically begin receiving flyers from outside community and enrichment organizations through ParentSquare.

Enrichment Providers/Community Organizations 

BUSD works with community groups that offer educational or enrichment opportunities for students. These materials are shared electronically with families through ParentSquare.

We have moved from paper to electronic flyers to:

  • Be more environmentally friendly
  • Use technology more efficiently
  • Be fiscally responsible

Once your flyer is approved, it will be emailed to parents/guardians through ParentSquare.

Please include the items listed in the guidelines below.

Basic Requirements

District staff will review each flyer and approve or deny it based on the following standards. Approved flyers must meet all of these requirements:

  • The program or event must be within BUSD boundaries.
  • It must directly support BUSD students, teachers, and/or schools. Note: Simply offering a service or enrichment program is not enough.
  • The organization must be a non-profit.
  • A copy of Proof of Non-Profit status (IRS Form 501(c)) is required.
  • A PDF copy of the flyer must be submitted.
  • No money may be collected at schools.
  • The program must be a youth program.
  • The program should align with: District mission and core values & District/Superintendent goals

When Submitting a Flyer

  • Explain how your organization supports BUSD students or schools.
  • Submit your flyer at least two weeks before the date you would like it posted.

Restrictions

BUSD does not distribute information about programs sponsored by churches or religious organizations. Non-religious groups that rent space from a religious or church organization, are completely separate from that organization, and provide services within BUSD boundaries may be considered for approval.
