Hello Pyle Families,
This week our students were able to take part in our first lockdown drill of the year. Staff and students practiced making sure that all doors were locked and students were safe. Please follow up with your student to see how their classroom practiced for a lockdown.
Monday is Labor Day and there will not be school. Please have a wonderful day off and we will see you all back on Tuesday, September 5.
Next week our Ernie Pyle PTA will be hosting a Book Fair for the students. Each classroom will have an opportunity to shop for books. Teachers will each be letting their class know which day they are able to shop. Tuesday, September 12, is our Back to School Night. This is an opportunity for parents to hear from the teacher about all that we have planned for the students this year. The evening will start at 5:00 pm with introductions and a PTA meeting in the cafeteria, following the PTA we will have a representative from Paper Tutoring to share with families about the free tutoring platform available to all students. Classroom Visitations will take place in two sessions from 5:30-6:00 and 6:00-6:30 p.m. Our Wellness center will be open so that families can visit this new social-emotional space available to our panthers and we will have vendors available on the playground. Please save the date, it is a night you won't want to miss.
