• Hello Pyle Families,

We have some exciting activities happening at Ernie Pyle.

Thursday, October 21, Our school will be participating in the Great ShakeOut.  The Great ShakeOut earthquake drill is an opportunity to practice how to be safer during earthquakes: At school, we will drop, cover, and hold on before we practice our evacuation.  Please discuss with your student the steps to stay safe in the event of an earthquake.

Thursday evening from 6:00 pm to 6:45 pm we will have our PTA Pyle Pumpkin Path event.  Students with their families are welcome to come to the front gate of the school to participate in a trick or treat path through some of our hallways.  The PTA and some of our teachers will be passing out treats to our visitors.  This event will be completely outside and you are welcome to wear costumes.  No weapons, please.  All visitors must wear a mask or face covering (costume masks are not a substitute for a Covid-19 face mask).  Please do not attend if you have symptoms of Covid-19 or if you are under isolation orders, or if you have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19.  During the event family units will walk the path together, please keep 6 feet between yourselves and other family groups.  If you would like to send in any treats to be shared with our guests that evening please send individually wrapped store-bought items to the office to be given to PTA.
