July 15, 2020 Update: 2020-2021 School Year
Dear BUSD Families,
I have been working with our Teachers Association today in the hopes of sharing our decision for fall learning. At this time, they are still contemplating the new health requirements and feasibility of a safe return to school.
Due to the increasing numbers of COVID and these new requirements, the union is re-surveying their members. I have been told the results will be available late Friday. I hope to be able to update our parents no later than early next week.
In an effort to keep you informed of all the considerations, I have posted below the LADPH requirements and the California Teachers Association letter to Governor Newsom outlining their concerns and the lack of resources.
We applaud our teachers for giving this decision the contemplation it deserves and not simply jumping on a bandwagon of virtual education only.
I will update you as information is provided to me through Blackboard phone and email messages, the district website, App and the District Facebook page.
Sincerely,
Tracy McSparrenSuperintendent
