    Bellflower Unified School District’s Nutrition Services Department would like to inform all families that FREE meals will be provided during the summer to all kids and teens ages 1 through 18 by The City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks and County Libraries.   • Congratulations to our Adult Transition Students

    Congratulations to our Adult Transition Students! Students from the Adult Transition Center along with teachers and Board Clerk Laura Sanchez-Ramirez and Board Member, Richard Downing celebrated at their Completing Ceremony. BUSD is proud to have helped build their futures and is excited to see where their journey takes them.   • Chargers Host Play60 at Washington Elementary School

    Students were provided with the opportunity to learn NFL skills while understanding the importance of being active for 60 minutes a day. The variety of drills featured: knock-away dummies, ladders, and halfback pads just like the Chargers! Junior Chargers Training Camp powered by Play60 empowers students to be healthy both physically and mentally. A special thank you to the parents who volunteered!

  • Whitewood Preschool is Building Futures Through Physical Activity!

    BUSD Board Members helped celebrate inclusive education at Whitewood Preschool. Whitewood held it's fourth annual Young Athletes program in conjunction with Special Olympics. The program brings students with special needs and typical peers together in physical activity to develop motor and social skills. Pictured are preschool participants with Debbie Cuadros, Board President, Richard Downing, Board Member, and Laura Sanchez Ramirez, Board Clerk. A special thanks to the preschool and APE staff for all of their hard work in building this program and opportunities for our students.

  • New Glasses for Baxter Bears

    On May 29th, 88 students at Albert Baxter received new eyeglasses. This endeavor was supported by the Rotary Club and sponsored by Nonprofit Vision to Learn. Students were provided with eye exams and prescription glasses!

  • Bellflower USD Honors Outstanding Elementary Schools

    Once a year our elementary, middle school and high school bands come together in a district-wide Music Festival to showcase our amazing and talented students in Elementary Band, GATE Band, Junior Band, and High School Jazz Band. It is quite impressive to see the progression of skills and talent from elementary to high school. The event culminates with a powerful all bands grand finale. This year Bellflower Unified School District honored the following outstanding elementary schools at the Music Festival, Craig Williams, Esther Lindstrom, Intensive Learning Center, and Washington.

  • Ron Yary Stadium Modernization Completed

    The modernization of Ron Yary stadium was completed recently thanks to the Measure BB Bond. BUSD held a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the modernization of the visitor side of Ron Yary Stadium. The community was invited to celebrate, walk tour the stadium and enjoy stadium style refreshments. It was a great day and students were excited to try out the new track. Board President. Debbie Cuadros thanked the community for their support of the Measure BB Bond that made completion of the 28 year project possible.
