Principal's Message

Dear Ramona Families,

Welcome to another exciting year at Ramona! It is with great enthusiasm that I write this letter as Ramona's Principal. I am truly honored to be part of this school community!

I have worked within the Bellflower Unified School District for the past 26 years. I began my career as an English language arts and English Language Development teacher at Bellflower Middle/High School and until July 2021, I served as the Assistant Principal of Curriculum, Instruction, and Guidance for grades 7-12. 

One of the most important aspects of my work at Ramona will be to continue the great things that teachers and staff have already established and to continue to build strong relationships with students, teachers and families. My passion has always been educating students, and you can expect that I will work with all stakeholders to make sure our students continue to be exposed to curriculum and instruction that is engaging and challenging.

The 2022-2023 school year will be one of growing, learning, and gaining new experiences. Our dedicated team of teachers and staff strive to develop strong character in our students while providing a rigorous academic program, and I look forward to working together with you to provide a quality education for all Ramona scholars.  It was wonderful to welcome all of our students back for the first day of school! It was clear that everyone was ready to return to school and prepared to have a successful year and achieve at a high level.

We believe that when home and school work together, there is no end to what our students can achieve. For more specific information, please join us at Back to School Night on Thursday, September 15th.  On this important night, you will visit your child’s classroom and hear about the exciting learning opportunities that lie ahead for the school year.

Thank you to our families who have completed the data confirmation process. If you have not already done so, now is the time.  Data Confirmation is electronic collection, verification, and confirmation of registration data for students attending the Bellflower Unified School District.  As a part of this program, all families must go online and sign up for a Parent Portal account.  You will find instructions for how to set up your Parent Portal account on the Ramona website. In addition, information was sent home in a letter that is unique to your student.  You will need this information to set up your Parent Portal account.  If you have questions about setting up your account or completing data confirmation, please contact the office.

Please review the procedures and guidelines for drop off and pick up, bearing in mind that student safety is our top priority at Ramona.  It is especially dangerous to walk your students across Clark Avenue and Laurel Street. Please use the crosswalk and follow directions of the crossing guards who are are dedicated to the safety of our students. Let’s start the new school year out right by observing traffic and safety rules and laws before and after school.  Thank you for your help and cooperation with this very important endeavor. I look forward to seeing you all and working together to provide a quality education for all students at Ramona.
