The staff development programs at the Intensive Learning Center support teacher professionalism and are based on school needs. In May, 2000 the Intensive Learning Center received the California Distinguished School Award and received the National School Boards Association Magna Award. The entire school community continues to monitor its programs, studentsÕ academic success, and the academic programs to promote lifelong learning. At the ILC we recognize that the elementary grades can be the most influential in any childÕs formal education. Our mission is to provide a model school that is a safe, positive learning environment which maximizes opportunities for our diverse student population to develop intellectually, socially, culturally, and physically into productive and informed citizens in a changing world through a comprehensive curriculum by a highly trained staff.
