Ramona Elementary School is located in Bellflower. The facilities include 35 regular education classrooms, a multipurpose room (which also serves as the school cafeteria), a library, two computer labs, a psychologist's office, two Resource Specialist rooms, and a Speech and Language room. The district operates a before and after-school care class on the Ramona campus. Ramona serves 788 students. The attendance rate at the school was 95.80 percent during the prior school year. Student enrollment includes a variety of ethnic backgrounds: Asian 3.2 percent, Pacific Islander .5 percent, Filipino four percent, Hispanic 66.9 percent, African-American 12 percent, Caucasian 9.2 percent, and multiple or other 4.2 percent. Ramona has 39 regular education teachers, three special education teachers, an assistant principal, and a principal. Other personnel serving the school include a psychologist, two health assistants, a guidance intern, a case manager, and a speech and language teacher. One hundred percent of our teaching staff possess appropriate California teaching credentials.
