Mayfair Middle/High School is located in the city of Lakewood and serves 3,543 students in grades seven through twelve on a traditional school calendar.  Mayfair students reside in the cities of Bellflower, Lakewood and Cerritos.  The campus consists of one hundred five regular education classrooms as well as sixteen special education classrooms. Mayfair provides a safe learning environment in which all students are provided the tools in which to gain greater knowledge and place them on a path to higher education and the workforce. School staff works to ensure the academic success of all students, encourage positive character traits and support the pursuit of athletics and the arts.

The goal of Mayfair Middle/High School is to encourage our students to become lifelong learners, demonstrate school pride and spirit, and build positive character traits.  We are proud to offer a wide range of course options for students. A wide variety of AP and honors classes were offered in the areas of Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, English and Foreign Language this year.  High achieving students have the opportunity to participate in the Mayfair Academic Program (MAP). Academically struggling students are supported with a variety of resource such as the Resource Specialist Program, Special Day Classes and Severely Handicapped classes.  Students interested in the arts may apply for the Academy of Animation and Digital Art Academy.  Mayfair boasts award winning musical groups such as the Marching Band, Strings, Jazz and Orchestra program.  Vocalists may try out for our award winning tour groups such as the Mayfair Mariners or Showtime.   Students are provided the opportunity to participate in Suburban League Teams and CIF championship athletic teams such as Mayfair football, basketball, wrestling, soccer, volleyball, tennis, swimming, etc.

It is Mayfair High’s honor and goal to ensure the successful graduation of each student entering its doors.  For this reason, academic and counseling support is available for students.  The staff depends upon partnerships between the school, parents and the community to implement standards based curriculum with high expectations. Parents are welcomed to participate in school/community organizations such as School Site Council, English Learner Advisory Committee and the Parent Teacher Student Associations. Our students continue to make growth in all subject areas as we reach to achieve our Academic Performance goal of 800.
